POSTPONED – Irish-Italian stories on paintings and conservation

***We regret to inform you that this event has been cancelled due to the the developing COVID-19 outbreak situation. The event will be postponed to a later date TBA. We apologise for the inconvenience***.

A painting tells and hides many stories: how was it conceived and created? But also: how was it neglected and eventually restored? This event focuses on the collaboration between the people and institutions without which the conservation of such essential patrimony would be impossible. Alessandra Ferlito from the Istituto Centrale per il Restauro in Rome and Aoife Brady, Curator of Italian Art at the National Gallery of Ireland, will explore the collaborations that took place between Ireland and Italy since the 1960s and the fascinating results and discoveries we can now admire in the rooms of the National Gallery of Ireland.

Event in English.

Free admission, booking recommended.
