Griselda in Focus – by Irish National Opera

Join us for a unique evening of talks and song, in partnership with Irish National Opera, to mark the first ever Irish performance of an opera by Vivaldi, Griselda.

Literary historian Eric Haywood (UCD) will explore the extraordinary success of the Griselda story with references ranging from Boccaccio to James Joyce while musicologist Antonio Cascelli (University of Maynooth) will discuss Vivaldi’s opera and its context. In addition, extracts from the opera will be performed along with a panel discussion with members of the cast and creative team providing insights into the production.
