An Taoille Tuile – High Tide
Seaweed, Coastal Traditions and Future Ecological Challenges
As part of EASA 2026, Italian architects Agostino Omini and Anna Setti will present the workshop An Taoille Tuile – High Tide, exploring the relationship between seaweed, coastal traditions, and contemporary ecological challenges. The event is supported by the Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin and moderated by curator Cristina Ciampaglione.
The event will offer the public the opportunity to gain insight into the architects’ research and design practice through a conversation exploring the origins of their work, their connection to coastal landscapes—with particular attention to Waterford and Ireland—and future perspectives on the protection of marine ecosystems. The projects developed during the workshop will also be on display.

Agostino Omini
Agostino Omini (Milan, 1997) is an architect who graduated with honours from the Politecnico di Milano in 2022. His work investigates the relationship between the human and the more-than-human within the contemporary historical context, understanding architecture as the stage where these interactions take place rather than as a discipline limited solely to the categorical imperative of construction.
In 2026, he published Ignored Realm. Multispecies Urban Visions (Maggioli Editore), highlighting the tension between humans and nature—the foundation of the relationship between city and countryside—and proposing a new model of urbanity capable of accommodating multispecies coexistence, starting from the most fragile territory within the broader context: the peri-urban fringe.
Anna Setti
Anna Setti (Brescello, 1998) is an Italian-Irish architect who graduated with honours from the Politecnico di Milano in 2023. Alongside her passion for architecture—particularly its technological and compositional aspects—she has maintained a strong interest in social and political issues, promoting a vision of architecture as a practical tool for addressing contemporary challenges.
Alongside her research, she works full-time at an architectural practice and serves as a teaching assistant at the Politecnico di Milano, supporting several courses within the School of Architecture.
