The Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin is pleased to invite the public to a guided tour of the exhibition “The Nativity Scene: The Legacy of Saint Francis of Assisi through Italian Design and Irish Craftsmanship”, hosted at Rathfarnham Castle, Dublin.

Conceived by the Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin and designer Andrea Vecera, the exhibition’s artistic curator, the project was developed by the Institute in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Ireland, OPW – Oifig na nOibreacha Poiblí/Office of Public Works, and DCCI – Design & Crafts Council Ireland. The exhibition will be on display at Rathfarnham Castle until 6 January 2027.

Organised by the Embassy of Italy in Ireland and the Italian Cultural Institute in Dublin, the guided tour will offer an opportunity to explore the creative dialogue between Italian designers and Irish craftspeople through works that reinterpret the Nativity scene tradition in a contemporary way.

Furthermore, the event is part of the programme of the 26th edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World. The guided tour will be conducted in Italian, with the aim of promoting and encouraging the use of the Italian language through art and creativity.

It will be an opportunity to discover how design, tradition and craftsmanship can come together to create a shared cultural experience, celebrating the collaboration between Italy and Ireland.

The event will take place on Wednesday 21, with participants meeting at 3:00 pm at the information desk of Rathfarnham Castle.

The event is free of charge. Registration is available via the following link: Guided walk through the exhibition “The Nativity Scene” Tickets, Wednesday, October 21  •  3 PM – 3:30 PM | Eventbrite
