The “LUNEDI AL CINEMA” series is starting again, and this autumn it will be centered on a double track: Comedy and Political Themes will both describe the history of our country.
From September to December we will screen a series of films that will recount the birth and development of the “Italian comedy” from the 1950s to 2000, and others dealing with issues of social relevance, often linked to biographies of important public figures.
We will therefore begin on 11 September with the screening of the film “I soliti ignoti” by Mario Monicelli (1958) universally recognized as the work of the beginning of the Italian comedy.
The film, which hosts actors and actresses as Totò, Marcello Mastroianni, Vittorio Gassman, Claudia Cardinale etc., will be screened in Italian with English subtitles and preceded by an analysis of the context and the director’s work.
