The piano recital on the sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti (1685-1757) opens the 2023 classical music season of the Italian Institute of Culture in collaboration with the major Irish and Italian musical institutions.
Thursday 19 January at 6.30pm at the Hugh Lane Gallery, the Apulian pianist Nazareno Ferruggio will present an extraordinary programme of sonatas by the composer Domenico Scarlatti:

- Sonata K. 9,
- Sonata K. 141 “Toccata”,
- Sonata K. 531,

Two pieces by F. Chopin will complete the evening: “Andante spianato” and “Grande Polonaise Brillante in E flat major Op. 22”.
Born in 1981, Maestro Ferruggio graduated from the “N. Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari and from the Musik Hochschule in Mannheim and the Academy of Music in Bern. Awarded in various national and international competitions, he has performed on the major stages of the world.
