80 years ago the historic pitched battle of El Alamein (23 October – 11 November 1942) was held in the context of the Second World War.
The Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin offers the opportunity to retrace those days with a screening of the film “El Alamein – la linea del fuoco” by E. Monteleone. In Italian with English subtitles
This military themed film tells the story of the many difficulties suffered by Italian soldiers stationed in Africa during the Second World War.
A student convinced to leave and fight for the Axis (Paolo Briguglia) is soon bewildered by the desolate desert environment in which his military unit fights.
The film, released in 2002, won three David di Donatello and stars actors of the caliber of Paolo Briguglia (Soldier Serra), Pierfrancesco Favino (Sergeant Rizzo) and Emilio Solfrizzi (Lieutenant Fiore).
