This year the EUNIC European Film Club project, launched last year in 6 locations of the Dublin City Libraries network, is returning to 4 public libraries and 4 Cultural Institutes belonging to the EUNIC cluster, screening a total of 10 movies selected by different countries.
In a fascinating exchange which aims to widen and diversify the public for each site involved, the Italian movie “Salvatore, questa è la vita!” (2006) by Gian Paolo Cugno will be screened on the 1st of May at Tenerenure Library and on the 2nd of May at the Instituto Cervantes.

THE DIRECTOR
Gian Paolo Cugno is an Italian director and screenwriter. After completing his high school studies, he moved to Rome. There, he underwent extensive apprenticeships as an assistant director and assistant editor, also collaborating on screenplay development for cinema. He directed various documentaries and short films, participating in festivals both in Italy and abroad. In 2006, his screenplay “Salvatore – This is Life” became his first feature film, produced and distributed by the Walt Disney Company. Presented at the Rome Film Festival, it won the Agis Golden Butterfly award. Cugno also won the Globo d’oro for Best New Director and the Biglietto d’oro for box office success in Italian theaters. In 2008, he wrote and directed “La Bella Società” his second film, produced and distributed by Medusa Film – Mediaset. In 2015, he wrote and directed the film “The Storytellers”, distributed in 2016. In 2022, he returned to the director’s chair to helm the film “The Dramonterre Case”, shot in Floridia in the province of Siracusa.
