As part of a new series of meetings on historical topics entitled ‘Biographies, in the footsteps of history’, the writer and academic Antonella Prenner will be at the Institute for an intriguing and well-documented excursus on female figures in the Roman era, including Messalina, wife of Emperor Claudius, Servilia and Calpurnia who supported Julius Caesar in his conquest of power, Agrippina and others. Antonella Prenner is Professor of Latin Literature at the University of Cassino and Lazio Meridionale and author of several academic publications and three novels that recount the events of Ancient Rome from a female perspective: Tenebre (2018), Caesar (2020), Il canto di Messalina (2022).
