We are delighted to present the preview event of FIILI – Festival of Italian and Irish Literature in Ireland 2025, featuring award-winning author Alessandro Baricco in an unforgettable literary evening.

All literature enthusiasts are warmly invited to join us on Thursday, 11 September 2025 at 6:20 PM, at MoLI – Museum of Literature Ireland, Dublin.

The event, held in both Italian and English, will explore Baricco’s career and his most recent publications in an interview with one of the festival’s curators, Enrica Ferrara.

Alessandro Baricco is a writer, playwright, screenwriter, television author, music critic, as well as a TV and radio presenter. He was awarded the Premio Campiello in 2020. Among his most celebrated works are the novels Castelli di rabbia, Oceano mare, Seta, City, and the theatrical monologue Novecento.

The Italian Institute of Culture organises, for the third consecutive year, the Festival of Italian and Irish Literature in Ireland – FIILI – in partnership with Irish PEN/PEN na hÉireann and Trinity College Dublin and with the support of Literature Ireland, Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation and The Society for Italian Studies. The third edition features a rich series of conversations with Italian and Irish authors. The first day, Friday 26 September, (at the Institute) will be dedicated to translation and the meeting with the author Joseph O’ Connor. The second day, Saturday 27 September (at Regent House – Trinity College Dublin) will host various thematic meetings with simultaneous Italian-English-Italian translation. Among the Italian authors involved: Claudia Durastanti, Stefania Auci, Nadia Terranova (Strega Prize finalist), Marco Balzano. Free admission.
