Concert Recital “Favole della dittatura/Tales from the Dictatorship”

Five Sicilian Preludes” for guitar and reading voice. Texts by Leonardo Sciascia, music by Benjamin Dwyer, performed by Dario Macaluso and Nicole Rourke for the readings.

In the year celebrating the centenary of the Sicilian writer’s birth, The Italian Institute of Culture proposes a concert with readings of the English text of the “Tales from the Dictatorship” by Leonardo Sciascia accompanied by original music by Irish composer Benjamin Dwyer and performed by M. Dario Macaluso. 

During the evening, the two musicians will perform guitar duets such as Luciano Berio’s “Duetti”, Benjamin Dwyer’s “Two Etudes: No. 1 Relentless, No 6 African Print”, and Mauro Giuliani’s “Arie irlandesi op. 125”.
