On the occasion of Dantedì 2023, the Italian Cultural Institute in Dublin presents an event on Dante Alighieri’s work dedicated to the contributions he made with respect to civil coexistence and to the socio-political interpretation of his time.
Prof. Rino Caputo (full professor emeritus of the University of Tor Vergata in Rome) (in presence at the Institute) and Raffaele Campanella (connecting from remote), will discuss the book “Dante poeta della libertà” (“Dante poet of freedom” – La scuola di Pitagora, 2022) which aims to give answers to the questions “What is Dante’s prophecy?”, “How and why did he become the father of the Italian language?”, “What is Dante’s relationship with the Church?”, “How did authors such as Balzac, Hugo, Borges look at Dante and what influence did he have on their work?”.
The event will take place in Italian.
