Piano recital by Roberto Turrin
Roberto Turrin is a highly regarded Italian pianist. He graduated from the G. Tartini Conservatory of Music in Trieste. He studied under Maestro Luciano Gante, as well as pianist Lya De Barberis in Italy and Meisterkurse Zofingen in Switzerland. After receiving awards from the International Music Competitions in Stresa and Morcone, Italy, Roberto Turrin began his career as a soloist, performing widely in North America and Europe (including France, Russia, Germany, Poland, Norway, and Austria). His tours have received wide acclaim from the public and criticsd alike. Turrin’s accomplishments include duet ensembles with the violin and the clarinet, and recordings for television and radio stations (including RAI in Italy, RadioTV Slovenia, TV Polska, and Belarus TV). Roberto Turrin is presently on the faculty in the Conservatory of Music G. Tartini in Trieste (Italy). He is the Artistic Director of the International Music Festival “Echos” and has been invited to teach master classes on “The Italian Piano Literature of the Twentieth Century” at institutions including San Francisco State University, Stanford University, The University of Illinois (Chicago), Escola Superior di Musica Lisbon, Innsbruck Konservatorium, the Norges Musikkhogskole in Oslo and many others.This evening’s recital marks his first performance in Ireland.
