This year the EUNIC European Film Club project, launched last year in 6 locations of the Dublin City Libraries network, is returning to 4 public libraries and 4 Cultural Institutes belonging to the EUNIC cluster, screening a total of 10 movies selected by different countries.
In a fascinating exchange which aims to widen and diversify the public for each site involved, the movie presented by the Bulgarian Embassy is Ireland, “One more dream” (2012) by Nikolay Mutafchiev, will be screened on May the 2nd at 6pm in the Pavilion Hall of our Institute.
Synopsis: Four women who have reached the bottom of despair are ready to do anything to re-surface again. And at that very moment life offers them the most absurd opportunity to fulfil their dream. On the borderline between fantasy and reality the four of them realise that when you have nothing you can risk everything.
The movie will be screened in Bulgarian with English subtitles, and preceded by an analysis of the context and the director’s work.
THE DIRECTOR
Nikolay Mutafchiev is a Bulgarian director known for his work in cinema and television. Born in the Bulgarian capital, Mutafchiev studied directing at the National Academy of Theatre and Film in Sofia. His career is characterized by a variety of genres, including drama, comedy, and thriller, and he has earned recognition for his ability to direct engaging stories and complex characters. Among his best-known works are films such as “The Way Back” (2010), “Friday Five Sharp” (2015), and television series like “Undercover”. His artistic vision and ability to convey emotions through images make him one of the most talented directors of contemporary Bulgaria.
