‘Il Grande Spirito’ (2019) is a film directed by Sergio Rubini, which tells the story of Tonino, a petty thief always looking for the big catch.
When he finds himself with the loot of a robbery in his hands, he’s forced to escape through Taranto’s rooftops. Among these rooftops, an encounter with a strange character takes place, marked by heavenly ascents and ruinous crashes, in a land poisoned by factories and infested by the underworld.
The film will be screened in Italian with English subtitles and will be preceded by an analysis of the context and the work of the director.
