“Una Femmina: The Code of Silence” is a 2022 Italian film inspired by the story of Maria Concetta Cacciola and Giusy Pesce. The latter was the first woman to have rebelled against the `’Ndrangheta (a Mafia-type association).
Director Francesco Constabile, taking inspiration from the book “Fimmine Ribelli” (“Rebel Women”) by Lirio Abbate tells us the story
of Rosa, a restless and rebellious girl who tries to find the truth about the death of her mom. But when a mysterious homicide might be linked to the `’Ndrangheta, every footstep can be fatal…
The movie will be screened in Italian with English subtitles and introduced by a brief analysis of its context and the director’s work.
