Join us for an exciting new cycle of screenings of contemporary Italian films in the spaces of our Institute! From September to December 2024 we will screen 8 films in Italian with English subtitles by the best contemporary directors.

The next appointment will be Monday 30 September 2024 at 6pm for the screening of: ‘ACAB. All Cops Are Bastards’ (2012). Directed by Stefano Sollima, in his debut on the big screen, the film is based on the book of Carlo Bonini “ACAB. All cops are bastards”.

The film will be screened in Italian with English subtitles and will be preceded by an analysis of the context and work of the director.

PLOT: Cobra (Piefrancesco Favino), Negro (Filippo Nigro) and Mazinga (Marco Giallini) are three ‘celerini bastardi’. They have experienced firsthand what it means to be targets, living in a world steeped in violence. This violence reflects a society pushed to its limits, a world ruled by hatred and lawlessness, where force is used without hesitation. At a critical juncture in their lives, as their personal struggles reach a peak, they encounter a glimpse of hope in a young recruit, Adriano (Domenico Diele), who has just joined their unit.

THE DIRECTOR: Stefano Sollima is an Italian director and screenwriter. He is best known for directing successful television series and films such as Romanzo criminale – La serie, Gomorra – La serie, Suburra, ACAB – All Cops Are Bastards and Soldado.
