Winner of four David di Donatello awards in 2023, “La Stranezza” / “Strangeness” (103’) (2022) is a film directed by Roberto Andò, created in collaboration with the comedy duo Ficarra and Picone. Set in 1921, the story follows future Literature Nobel Prize winner Luigi Pirandello as he returns to Sicily for the birthday of his mentor, Giovanni Verga. Upon his arrival, unexpected news catapult him into a human universe populated by incredible personalities and ghostly visions. This irrational and compelling journey will allow him to confront a nostalgic past, propelling him toward the creation of his theatrical masterpiece, “Six Characters in Search of an Author”. The film will be screened in Italian with English subtitles and will be preceeded by an analysis of its context and the directors’ work. Adult audience only. Free entry with booking on our website.
