In 2021 we celebrate the 500th anniversary of the publication of the second edition of the Orlando furioso by Ludovico Ariosto. Francesco Lucioli (UCD) will talk about the fortune of Ariosto’s poem and present his new book “Tramutazioni dell’Orlando furioso. Sulla ricezione del poema ariostesco” (Rome, Edizioni di Storia e Letteratura, 2020).

Francesco Lucioli is Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Italian at University College Dublin (UCD). His main areas of interest are earlymodern Italian literature, language and culture; the relationship between literature and visual arts; the relationship between literature and religion; Renaissance and Baroque Rome; chivalric and epic poetry; women’s writing and the “querelle des femmes”. He is the author of three books: “Amore punito e disarmato. Parola e immagine da Petrarca all’Arcadia” (Rome 2013), “Jacopo Sadoleto umanista e poeta” (Rome 2014), and the recent “Tramutazioni dell’Orlando furioso: sulla ricezione del poema ariostesco” (Rome 2020).
