Valerio Magrelli in conversation with Clarissa BotsfordIntroduction by Roberto BertoniReadings in Italian and English from Nel condominio di carne (In the condominium of flesh) Valerio Magrelli is the author of  six poetry collections, for which he has won the Mondello Prize, the Viareggio Prize for poetry, and the prestigious Montale Prize. In November 2003 the Accademia dei Lincei awarded him the Premio Antonio Feltrinelli. A professor of French literature at the University of Pisa and Cassino, he is also a frequent contributor to the cultural pages of several Italian dailies. His poems have been translated into English, French, Spanish and a number of other languages. As literary critic he has just published an anthology of Italian poetry 1000-2000 (Millennium Poetry. A sentimental Journey).Clarissa Botsford studied Italian at Cambridge and Comparative Education in London before moving to Rome, Italy. She has worked in the fields of teaching, intercultural education and publishing and is also a musician. She currently teaches English and Translation Studies at Rome University and translates contemporary Italian fiction and poetry. In 2014 she translated Valerio Magrelli’s Condominium of the Flesh (Free Verse Editions) – from which she will be reading.
