The collaboration with the Street Art Festival “Waterford Walls” reaches its fourth year. Between 2022 and 2024 it made possible the participation of four Italian artists to the event (Iena Cruz, Chekos, LuogoComune, Rame13) to the great satisfaction of both public and curators. The 2024 “Waterford Walls” edition saw the partecipation of 47 artists from 11 countries that painted 55 urban spaces to the delight of 30,000 visitors.
This year, the support of the IIC will allow Mr. Blob, an artist from Taranto, to join the Street Artist team selected for the 2025 edition from among 1,400 applications. Mr. Blob depicts dreamlike worlds populated by animal-characters, where light becomes vital energy that enhances and transforms colors depending on the surface it touches.

BIO:
Mr. Blob is an Italian graffiti artist and illustrator, born in 1988. The walls of his native city became a medium for his first artworks and technical experimentation in his early creative years. In his early 20s, driven by the improvements in his abilities, he moved to Milan, where he found a rich and diverse artistic scene. Here, he began his collaborations with other artists from all parts of Italy that would lead him to participate in different events in Europe and overseas.
In Milan, Blob established his unique style due to his subjects. Initially, these were nothing but a distortion of reality. His characters appeared with deformed faces and bodies, and all shared wide, realistic eyes aimed at telling a personal story. In recent years, his interest and research in new characters have resulted in a fusion between human and animal worlds, with the latter prevailing. Mr. Blob chooses large formats that fully express his poetry of freedom and where no detail is left to chance.
His protagonists are mainly irrational living beings who act according to instinct, just like the artist with his illustrations. Each animal species, perceiving reality in a different way, develops features that are appropriate to the specific context, and this is what inspires Mr. Blob to highlight those ‘supernatural senses,’ almost magical, that his creations present. Each character’s features are enhanced through the use of colours, which he expertly mixes, creates, and reshapes as in an actual magic ritual.
