Also for this year, the Italian Institute of Culture confirms its long-standing collaboration with the Wexford Festival Opera, as part of the 73rd edition of the festival which has as its theme ‘Theatre within Theatre’.
A calendar full of operas in Italian and by Italian composers such as Mascagni’s ‘Le Maschere’, Donizetti’s ‘Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali’ and ‘L’elisir d’amore’, Leoncavallo’s ‘Pagliacci’, as well as the ‘pocket opera’: ‘Puccini: man of the theatre’.
During 2024, Wexford Festival Opera and our Institute have collaborated in the organization of the very popular series of concerts in Dublin “Recital di Arie d’Opera”, including excerpts of operas in Italian with the participation of artists from the Wexford Factory Academy, in the beautiful setting of the Whyte Recital Hall of the Royal Irish Academy of Music – RIAM.
