On the occasion of the ‘Italian Design Day 2025’, organised yearly by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with ADI – Associazione per il Disegno Industriale, we resume the series of events around Italian style and design by screening the documentary film entitled ‘When Olivetti invented the PC’, which narrates the concept and realisation of the first Italian desktop computer called ‘Programma 101’ by the Olivetti company between 1962 and 1971.
First presented at the great BEMA Office Products Exhibition in New York in October 1965, at the time of its launch it was considered by some observers to be the first large-scale programmable desktop computer and the ancestor of the Personal Computer.
The film (52 min) will be screened in Italian with English subtitles.
A small wine reception will follow. Free admission upon booking on our website or Eventbrite.
