Starting from end of March 2025, the Italian Institute of Culture is proud to offer Italian Language Upskilling Courses for Primary School Teachers<\/strong>, aimed at enhancing language competence among primary teachers<\/strong> and enable them to<\/strong> effectively teach Italian language to primary school children<\/strong> in stage 4 (5th and 6th class).<\/p>\n

Our Italian courses will start from<\/strong> the A2.1 level<\/strong> and progress until<\/strong> the completion of the B1 proficiency level<\/strong>, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).<\/p>\n

For Spring 2025<\/strong>, our Institute will offer a A2.1 course<\/strong>, please find more information below.<\/p>\n

Language: Italian<\/strong><\/p>\n

Entry level: A2.1\u00a0 <\/strong>(participants will need to have an A1 proficiency level, a pre-entry placement test is required to be accepted for the course)<\/p>\n

Mode of delivery: blended (in-person and online)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Course duration: 25 hours online classes + 5 hours onsite workshop, from end of March until mid-June 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Course schedule: One evening class of 2.5 hours per week for a total of 20 hours in 10 weeks + one onsite workshop day of 5 hours to be organized between the 3rd<\/sup> and the 14th<\/sup> June <\/strong>– please scroll down for detailed class calendar.<\/p>\n

Criteria of eligibility for participants: Please note that courses will be offered only to registered primary school teachers in the Republic of Ireland.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fee: The course will be offered free of charge to registered primary school teachers in the Republic of Ireland.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Certificate of completion<\/strong>: on completion of the course, a certificate of completion will be issued to the participating teachers,\u00a0 provided that they have attended at least 80% of the classes.<\/p>\n

Additional information:\u00a0The programme of foreign language upskilling for primary teachers, coordinated by Post-Primary Languages Ireland (PPLI)<\/strong>, is set within the context of the implementation of the Primary Curriculum Framework (NCCA, 2023) and the updated Primary Language Curriculum (NCCA, 2024).<\/p>\n

This initiative supports teachers in upskilling in their language of their choice to prepare for the introduction of the redeveloped Primary Curriculum Framework<\/strong> (PLC).<\/p>\n

HOW TO REGISTER<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please fill in THIS FORM<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(please sign both pages) and complete the assessment test that you find here <\/a>(please make sure to record your answers in the last page of the test).<\/p>\n

We will check with PPLI your registration eligibility, correct your assessment test and let you know if you meet the criteria to participate to the course.<\/p>\n

Classes will be every Monday evening, from 18:00 to 20:30, from 31st March to 16th June 2025<\/strong>. However, please note that on the first week of June the class will be on Wednesday 4th June<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The 5 hour onsite workshop<\/strong> will be held on one day between the 3rd and the 14th June. Exact date to be confirmed based on teachers’ availability.<\/p>\n
