Then, each participant will have the chance to read aloud selected passages of the book.<\/p>\n<p>During the reading, aspects of the book\u2019s grammar, its language structures and its lexicon will be highlighted and explained by the facilitator, and participants will be encouraged to ask questions about the passages that they have found more challenging to read.<\/p>\n<p>During the second meeting, each participant will be encouraged to discuss the book and the facilitator will guide the conversation by asking questions about the book\u2019s characters, plot, message as well as its style and the overall enjoyment of their particular reading experience.<\/p>\n<p>It is likely that public conversations with one or more of the writers whose books have been selected for the Book Club will also be organized by the Italian Cultural Institute.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note that for this course an advanced level of Italian is required.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Club consists of 8 meetings of 2 hours each, for a total of 16 hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>New participants &#8211; \u20ac200<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>10% discount for previous participants, returning students, OAPs and full-time students<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; on presentation of valid documentation<\/p>\n<p><strong>Classes<\/strong>\u00a0will have a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 16 participants and\u00a0<strong>will be ONSITE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Book Club will meet on\u00a0<strong>Wednesday<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, from 15th February to 31st May 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enrolments are open until 10th February 2023.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Italian Book Club Programme &#8211; SPRING Term 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All classes will run from 18:30 to 20:30 on the specified dates.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>15th February and 1st March 2023<\/p>\n<p><strong>Claudia Durastanti<\/strong>,\u00a0<em>La straniera<\/em>, La Nave di Teseo, 2019<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>15th\u00a0March and 5th April 2023<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stiliana Milkova,\u00a0<\/strong><em>Storia delle prime volte<\/em>, Voland, 2022<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>19th April and 3rd May 2023<\/p>\n<p><strong>Catherine Dunne<\/strong>,\u00a0<em>Una buona madre<\/em>, translated by Ada Arduini, Guanda, 2022<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>17th May and 31st\u00a0May 2023<\/p>\n<p><strong>Viola Ardone<\/strong>,\u00a0<em>Il treno dei bambini<\/em>, Einaudi, 2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The\u00a0Italian Book Club, presented by\u00a0Enrica Maria Ferrara, will explore\u00a04 books by Italian authors.
