Anne Enright in conversation with four of her European translators

To mark the European Day of Languages and International Translation Day, Irish writer Anne Enright will join four of her European translators in a conversation about the translation of her work in Europe. A former winner of the Booker Prize, Anne Enright is the current Irish Laureate for Fiction and one of her priorities is the translation of Irish work into other languages for publication abroad. The event will focus on a discussion between the writer and her translators on issues such as cultural transfer, Irishness, untranslatables, markets and audiences. There will also be readings from selected passages of Enright’s works.

The translators who are attending are:

Hans Christian Oeser (Germany)
Isabelle Reinharez (France)
María Porras Sánchez (Spain)
