Giro-giro-tondo
100 Giri d'Italia with miniature theatres and books
Artworks by Fernanda Pessolano
Texts by Marco Pastonesi
Books by Biblioteca della Bicicletta Lucos Cozza
In 2017 the 100th edition of the Giro d’Italia will take place (the first edition took place in 1909 but four editions were cancelled during the First World War and five during the Second).
Fernanda Pessolano, of the Ti con zero cultural association, will celebrate the Giro d’Italia with Giro-giro-tondo – an exhibition of miniature theatres employing paper models and other materials to compose different scenes, worlds and characters. Creative gems that move between art and architectural experimentation.
The miniature theatres will be shown together with an exhibition of books dedicated to the Giro d'Italia and its protagonists. The books belong to the Biblioteca della bicicletta Lucos Cozza, the only one in Europe specialized in the field.
The exhibition also features a “spelling book” packed with anecdotes and rarities.
The exhibition will run until Friday 28th April 2017. It is possible to visit the exhibition during office opening hours or on occasion of cultural events.
