During the 9th century A.C. the Arabics invaded Sicily moving from North Africa, they conquered Palermo in 831 e the whole island in 965.
Subsequently, under the Normans' rule, Sicily underwent a period of great artistic and cultural development, which is reflected in the great monuments realized during that period. The island became a powerful reign and Palermo was its capital.
