a photographic insight of the Palazzo Ducale in Urbino by Luca Salvo

Urbino, a small hill town located in the Marche region, is a superlative example of Italian Renaissance art and architecture, whose historic centre was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1998. At the heart of Urbino stands the Palazzo Ducale, the magnificent centre of culture and art built by Federico II of Montefeltro and today home to the Museum “Galleria Nazionale delle Marche”, one of the most important collections of Renaissance art in the world including works by Piero della Francesca, Tiziano and Raffaello.

This series of photographs was taken between 2010 and 2012.
