A free pre-performance talk aahead of La Bohème presented by Lyric Opera Productions at the National Concert Hall on 17th, 18th and 20th October 2015.A former Director of the annual Opera Fringe Festival (N.I.), George Fleeton has been teaching Opera, Cinema, Literature and Theatre studies in Higher Education, north and south, for twenty years.He was for many years the Arts correspondent at and the Arts reviewer for the weekly Down Recorder newspaper.He has produced and presented weekly classical music programmes on Community Radio since 2003, and now produces and presents Recitals and Concerts at various Arts venues and Festivals throughout Ireland.As a solo chorister and boy soprano, he sang a vast range of sacred music and art songs, and several Gilbert & Sullivan roles on stage.Educated in Dublin and in Paris, he taught languages in further education, before a lengthy management career in Ulster Television.He now divides his time and his work between counties Down and Wicklow, and has regularly reviewed Wexford Festival Opera, Lismore Music Festival, the Torre del Lago-Puccini Festival in Tuscany, and the Cork and Venice Film Festivals. He writes a regular column on the arts-and- culture-in-performance in Ireland
