Continua la collaborazione con il Wexford Festival Opera per l’anno 2023.
L’Istituto Italiano di Cultura è lieto di presentare il secondo prestigioso concerto che si terrà alla Hugh Lane Gallery il 16 maggio alle ore 18.30 e che vedrà la partecipazione degli artisti del famoso Festival di Opera irlandese: Hannah O’Brien (soprano) e Dearbla Collins (pianista).
L’evento include un ricco programma di musiche d’opera in lingua italiana dei più grandi compositori: Glück, Mozart John Field, Bellini, Puccini, Seóirse Bodley, Menotti e Tom Lehrer.

Hannah O’Brien – Soprano
Hannah O’Brien is a soprano from Drogheda, Co. Louth. She is currently studying with Elizabeth Ritchie, having completed her master’s and BA in The Royal Irish Academy of Music under Sylvia O’Regan. She played the role of il Destino and Linfea in Cavalli’s la Calisto, Caper in Purcell’s The Fairy Queen and Nance Farrell in Stephen McNeff’s Banished. Hannah performed in ‘Celebration of the Voice’ hosted by Drogheda Classical Music as well as the premier of Michael Holohan’s song cycle The Hills are Crying. She will be performing the role of Polly in a film adaptation of Kevin O’Connell’s DreamCatchr, which is to be released in 2023. She was awarded the Gaiety Bursary in 2018 and has received numerous prizes in competitions including The Veronica Dunne – Operatic Ensemble at the ESB Feis Ceoil, Best Aria prize in the Irene Sanford Competition, Lieder Prize and Young cup at ESB Feis Ceoil.
DEARBHLA COLLINS (pianist)
Vocal coach at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, Dearbhla Collins is also Head of Artistic Administration at the National Opera Studio in London. Since 2005, she has been the Executive Artistic Director of the Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition in Dublin where she has worked alongside renowned guest jury members. Dearbhla was a member of the Board of the National Concert Hall, Dublin from 2010 – 2015.
