To mark fifty years of musical activity, Antoni O’Breskey celebrates a career that has established him as one of the most original and innovative figures in contemporary music. A composer and pianist with more than forty albums to his name, he was among the pioneers of musical cross-fertilisation, bringing together Irish traditional music, jazz, flamenco, and the musical traditions of the Mediterranean and the Arab world to create a distinctive and highly personal musical language.

Throughout his career, through the Nomadic Piano Project, he has collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists, including Ronnie Drew, Donal Lunny, Juan Martín, Steve Cooney, Gabin Dabiré, Antonio Carmona, and José Seves.

The concert draws inspiration from his recently released three-volume retrospective box set, 50 Years of Music, which traces the most significant stages of his artistic journey—from his Irish and jazz roots to his dialogues with flamenco and Mediterranean traditions, and the contemplative landscapes of contemporary minimalism, all united by his unmistakable pianistic voice.

For this special occasion, O’Breskey will be joined by the Nomadic Piano Ensemble, featuring singer and fiddle player Consuelo Nerea Breschi, multi-instrumentalist Paahto Cummins, piper Joe McHugh, and flamenco guitarist Juan José Manzano. The evening will also feature a special guest appearance by the legendary accordionist Máirtín O’Connor, a long-time collaborator since the early 1980s.

Supported by the Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin, this concert celebrates fifty years of musical exploration and a lifelong dialogue between cultures, traditions, and musical languages.
