From 20 February to 2 March, the DIFF – Dublin International Film Festival, which brings together the best of world film production, will take place in Dublin.
Thanks to the collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture, the film ‘Vermiglio’ (119′ – 2024) by Maura Delpero will be screened on Sunday 23 February 2025 at 5.45 pm. The screening will be attended by leading actors Martina Scrinzi and Giuseppe De Domenico (in the roles of Lucia and Pietro).
In 1944, in remote Vermiglio, the arrival of Pietro, a Sicilian soldier, upsets the everyday life of a teacher and his family, while Lucia, the eldest daughter in the family, falls in love with the soldier and decides to marry him. The film premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, winning the Silver Lion – Grand Jury Prize.
