EUNIC EUROPEAN FILM CLUB – Screening of the film “Breaking the limits” in Polish language with English subtitles

This year, the EUNIC European Film Club project, launched last year in 6 public libraries within the Dublin City Libraries network, is being reintroduced in 4 libraries and 4 Institutes of Culture of the EUNIC cluster.

Each venue, including the Italian Institute of Culture, the Goethe-Institut, the Alliance Française/French Embassy, the Instituto Cervantes, and the Embassies of Poland, Portugal, Malta, Estonia, and Bulgaria, will host someof the 10 selected films.

  • On Monday, April 29, 2024, at 6:00 PM, we will screen the Polish film “Najlepszy/Breaking the limits” (2017) by Łukasz Palkowski.

Synopsis: The film is based on the true story of Jerzy Górski, a Polish runner who fought against adversity and his addictions to become an international marathon champion. The film follows his journey from drug and alcohol addiction to redemption through the power of running and determination. Jerzy faces personal and physical challenges as he strives to overcome his limits and fulfill his dream of becoming an Olympic champion…

ABOUT EUNIC FILM CLUB

EUNIC Ireland in partnership with Dublin City Libraries presents the second Editions of the EUNIC European Film Club, a series of free screenings of European feature films in four library branches across the city and in the Goethe Institut, Intituto Cervantes, Instituto Italiano di Cultura and Alliance Francaise.

A total of 20 screenings will take place from 11th April to 30th May 2024, showcasing films from the following 10 EU countries: Bulgaria, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Poland, Portugal and Spain.
