This concert is realized in the context of the project Suono Italiano 2017 which promotes outstanding young musicians from Italy. The Italian Institute of Culture is delighted to join CIDIM, as well as the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, to support this project.
Giancarlo Palena was born in Atessa (CH), on 11th June, 1995. When he was 7 years old he began to study Accordion, with M° Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, who was winner of the Trophee Mondial of the Accordion C.M.A. in Lorient (France), in 2001. He has attended master classes in Italy and abroad held by: Yuri Shishkin, Miljian Bieletic, Owen Murray, Geir Draugsvall, Klaudiusz Baran, Cesare Chiacchiaretta. Winner of numerous national and international competitions, among which the 2nd Prize at the 39th edition of the prestigious International Competition “Città di Castelfidardo” (AN), (2014) – Cat. E, “Soloists without age limits.”
