The Eight Mountains tells the story of a friendship that begins in childhood and follows two boys as they grow into men, striving to carve their own paths away from those of their fathers. Yet, through the challenges and choices they face, they always find themselves drawn back home. Pietro is a city boy, while Bruno is the last child of a remote mountain village. Over the years, Bruno remains faithful to his mountains, while Pietro comes and goes. Their bond leads them to experience love for the mountains, loss, and the journey back to their roots, shaping their destinies as they discover what it truly means to be lifelong friends.
The film will be screened in Italian with English subtitles and will be preceded by an analysis of its context and the directors’ work. Free entry with prior booking on our website. Don’t miss it!
