The Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin is delighted to promote the artistic work of the musical group “Migrantes”. “Migrantes” is a musical project born from the encounter between Mauro Sigura (oud) and Andrea Manzoni (piano) at the European Jazz Export in Sardinia in 2018.
The duo was born out of a desire to express the concept of migration through music. Migration, which is at the heart of “Migrantes” artistic research, is not intended as a mere movement across borders. Rather, the artists focus on the deeper meaning of migration, understood as an inner voyage and a transformation of the human experience.
Their style is characterised by a combination of different musical genres, among which jazz, Arab-ottoman and Mediterranean musical traditions stand out. The duo’s interdisciplinary approach aims to overcome the cultural and geographic barriers by proposing to the audience an engaging and immersive experience.
Following their debut in 2024, “Migrantes” have captivated audiences around the world with their unique style, bringing their music to countries including Chile, Peru, Italy, UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, and Egypt. Following this success, the group will perform in Ireland on two different occasions:
- The first concert will take place on Thursday, 24 September 2026 at 7.30 pm at the theatre of the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar. The concert unfolds in three acts: The Dream, Hope, and The Journey. Tickets can be booked at the following link: MIGRANTES | Arts for All at the Linenhall.
