Monitor_285x112-1

To mark the 80th anniversary of women’s right to vote in Italy, the Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin will host the photographic exhibition “Women of the Republic – Eighty Years of Achievements in the ANSA Chronicles. 1946 – 2026″ , organised by ANSA News Agency under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Through an exceptional selection of black-and-white and colour photographs, the exhibition traces eighty years of Italian history, recounting the journey of women’s emancipation and highlighting the social, cultural, political and professional achievements that have transformed Italian society from the post-war period to the present day.

Drawn from ANSA’s historical archive, the photographs capture significant moments in the public and private life of the nation, giving a face to the women who helped redefine the role of women in the Italian Republic and promote a more inclusive and participatory society.

The exhibition offers an important opportunity to reflect on the values of citizenship, equality and democratic participation, while celebrating the vital contribution of women to the growth and development of contemporary Italy.

With captions in Italian and English, the exhibition will be open to visitors at the Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin from 1 July during office opening hours (10.00–13.00 and 15.00–17.00).

Opening event: 30 June at 18:00.
