In the early 13th century, Leonardo Pisano, later known as Fibonacci, published his “Liber Abbaci”, introducing Indo-Arabic numerals and the first calculation algorithms essential to merchants of the era. Thus we can safely say he was the initiator of a cultural revolution comparable to the recent digital shift.
The Italian Institute of Culture, in collaboration with the CNR National Research Council and its scientific communication project Comics&Science, brings to the Mallow Children’s Science Fair a special edition in English of the scientific comic book written and drawn by Claudia Flandoli dedicated to the Italian mathematician, and a series of practical activities and exercises for children animated by Italian researchers from Irish universities.
We’ll distribute free copies of the Fibonacci’s comic during the Fair, while a PDF edition will be freely downloadable from our website starting from 14 October. —> DONWLOAD IT HERE <---
