The Italian Institute of Culture is proud to support the exhibition “Nostalgism” by Italian artist Rebecca Moccia, presented at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios from 15 May to 28 June.
On 14 May, an opening reception will be held at the gallery from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Rebecca Moccia’s new multidisciplinary project explores nostalgia as a feature of contemporary anxiety and its instrumentalization within neoliberal socio-economic systems. Starting from her personal experience of her family and geographical context in the city of Naples, and from the economic and class divide that has historically emerged — and still exists — between Northern and Southern Italy, Moccia investigates the construction of cultural identity as defined by social and political contexts at both local and national levels.
Born in Naples in 1992, she lives and works in Milan. Recent exhibitions by Rebecca Moccia include: Panorama Pozzuoli, Naples (2025); Italian Pavilion, 15th Gwangju Biennale (2024); Mazzoleni, Turin (2023); ICA, Milan (2023); Jupiter Woods, London (2022).
In collaboration with Careof, Milan and Temple Bar Gallery + Studio.
