Tuesday 22 April, 6.30 p.m., among the towns and villages surrounding Viterbo, the online guided tour starts in Bagnaia to discover the beautiful Villa Lante: built in the 16th century for the Cardinal of Viterbo, it became the property of the Lante della Rovere family. A labyrinth, large fountains and allegorical decorations surprise visitors, but nothing compares to the second stop on our tour, the Sacro Bosco. Known as the Parco dei Mostri, for its statues carved in volcanic rock and covered in vegetation, it was created by the nobleman and warrior Vicino Orsini. A unique and bizarre creation, it remained abandoned for centuries and was only rediscovered in 1950.
The virtual visit, in English, by Mario Bernardi of the ‘The Grand Tour’ platform will be held on ZOOM. Booking required on Zoom.
