The Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin is delighted to promote the literary event featuring award-winner Irish writer Joseph O’Connor and three of his translators.
Joseph O’Connor, a novelist, screenwriter, playwright, broadcaster and professor, was born in Dublin. He is the author of 20 books and is work has been translated into 40 languages. His unique writing style has captivated readers around the world, earning him numerous international awards.
During the event, the Irish author will be accompanied by three of his translators: Elisa Banfi, Carine Chichereau, and Malwina Stopyra, who have translated his works into Italian, French and Polish respectively. They will be discussing Joseph’s work in translation, in a conversation moderated by Professor Michael Cronin of Trinity College Dublin.
This event is being held to mark European Day of Languages and International Translation Day and is made possible thanks to the support of EUNIC Ireland, (EU National Institutes of Culture). It is kindly supported by the Italian Institute of Culture – Dublin, and the embassies of France and Poland in Ireland, along with Alliance Française Dublin.
