The project was initiated in October 2019 to offer a seasonal program of live video broadcasts aimed at identifying and promoting, through a global communication tool, the Emilia-Romagna region as a territory of lyrical tradition and opera production of absolute international prestige. The project’s aim was also to provide a service aimed at disadvantaged audience groups in accessing theater activities.
A unique feature of OperaStreaming is its association of performances with extra content that showcases the cities, theaters, and production context they originate from. Recent video productions, created in collaboration with the theaters’ communication offices and the tourism services of municipalities and the region, follow the steps of expert guides to discover city curiosities and monuments, as well as behind-the-scenes glimpses of the theaters.
