La Festa della Musica
Since 1985, the European Year of Music, Festa della Musica has been celebrated on the summer solstice with musical events and concerts across Europe and around the world, conveying the universal values of culture, participation, inclusion, harmony and connection that music can inspire through both professional and amateur performers. Festa della Musica is a large-scale celebration of music in all its forms, bringing performances to a wide variety of settings, from public spaces such as squares, parks, railway stations and streets, to historical and institutional venues including museums, places of worship, government buildings and embassies, as well as places associated with social hardship, such as prisons and hospitals. The theme chosen for the 2026 edition is The Voice of Places (“La Voce dei Luoghi”). This year’s festival is dedicated to choirs and to celebrating the unique character and beauty of local communities and territories. The initiative is promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Associazione Italiana per la Festa della Musica – AIPFM; SIAE; Rappresentanza in Italia della Commissione europea; Dipartimento delle politiche giovanili, RAI.
