Every year the network of Embassies and Cultural Institutes commemorates the Holocaust Memorial Day, in memory of all the victims of the Holocaust the racial laws and all the Italian military and political deportees to Nazi concentration camps.
On 27 January, at the Italian Institute of Culture, the Italian Embassy in Dublin is organising an invitation-only evening of commemoration.
During the evening there will be a screening, in Italian with English subtitles, of the documentary film ‘Fuga dal Silenzio’ (Escape from Silence) (27′), which explores “concentration camp music” through the work of Maestro Francesco Lotoro, known for his commitment to recovering the scores of interned musicians.
This will be followed by a short concert by the Sonas Duo, composed of Francesca De Nardi (piano) and Davide Forti (cello), who will perform pieces related to the Holocaust, from traditional pieces to contemporary soundtracks.
