Join us for an exciting new cycle of screenings of contemporary Italian films in the spaces of our Institute! From September to December 2024 we will screen 8 Italian language films with English subtitles by the best contemporary directors.
The autumn cycle will start on Monday 16 September with the film ‘Questione di Karma’ (2017) by Edoardo Falcone. The film will be screened in Italian with English subtitles and will be preceded by an analysis of the context and work of the director.

PLOT: Giacomo (Fabio De Luigi) is the rich heir to a dynasty of industrialists, but prefers to devote his mind to thoughts and reveries. An esotericist will change his life by telling him that he has identified the actual reincarnation of his father, who died when he was still a child: it would be Mario (Elio Germano), a young man in debt to half the city. A comedy that shows us how the wheel of destiny is always in motion, capable of transforming a deception into a solid friendship.
THE DIRECTOR: Edoardo Falcone is an Italian director and screenwriter, born on 6 August 1968 in Rome. He has won prestigious awards such as the Nastro d’Argento and the David di Donatello. Falcone began his career in advertising as a freelance copywriter and later switched to theatre, where he worked as an actor and playwright. He made his film debut in 2010, co-writing the screenplay for ‘Tutto l’amore del mondo’. Over the years, he has collaborated with leading figures in Italian cinema, including Massimiliano Bruno and the Vanzina brothers. He made his directorial debut in 2015 with the film ‘Se Dio vuole,’ which was well received by both critics and audiences. Some of his other notable works include ‘Questione di Karma’ (2017) and ‘Io sono Babbo Natale’ (2021), the latter starring beloved actor Gigi Proietti.
